Good tankmates for RCS

Hey guys, I already have a 138 L tank and I already have a fauna stocking plan here.... please comment if I did anything wrong k?

1) 20 RCS
2) 20 Horned Nerite Snail
3) 5 MTS
4) 10 Glowlight Tetra
5) 10 Black Neon Tetra
6) 30 Amandae (Ember) Tetra
7) 4 COry Sterbai

If you guys can suggest any changes to the planned stocking idea that I have, please do so. I would be happy to accept any feedback. Thanks.

That is a lot of Nerites for a 36gal tank. I have three for a 29gal. I would get 4 max.

Horned Nerites are much smaller than typical larger Nerites. Often smaller than Ramshorn and Pond Snails when young and about the size of a U.S. Dime (at most) when they reach adulthood.

I've got more than a dozen in a 5gal tank and rarely see more than one at a time.

Hm... in such a large tank 20RCS might not cut it. You have a ton of fish there that would love to eat RCS babies.

You listed all the fishes that love to eat shrimp. What you did wrong is adding fish.

If you reconsider your fish stock (looking at the last 2 posts), I'd recommend Galaxy Rasbora/Celestial Pearl Danio because they leave RCS in peace (speaking from my experience and some others).

Those fish may never be seen too since they are so small in such a large tank.

Ahh I see.... I currently have a few MTS and some pest snails, not too much, since my assassin snails are keeping them in check. I also have 33 RCS who I don't know whether they are breeding. I plan to get around 40-50 RCS to bump up the populations before introducing small tetras in them.

I have currently around 68 Horned nerites, and might plan to get 2-3 Tracked or Zebra Nerites. To complete the algae control, I am thinking of getting 1 BN pleco and 2-3 ottos before thinking about getting some other fish. Any thoughts?

That's a lot of algae eaters! You have waaaaaaaaaay too many horned nerites. I have ten dime sized batiki nerites in my 37g and they have cleared up all my algae. Don't buy any more livestock until we work this out.

If you've got that much algae that you think you need so many algae eating critters, you need to address the root cause of the algae. What kind of algae do you have? What kind of lighting? Photoperiod? Ferts? CO2? Plants? What are your params? GH, KH, pH? We'll work this out.

On the flipside, algae is good for shrimp to graze from.

Actually I dunno if I have a lot of algae since I rarely see any algae.

I use 4 Phillips Essential 23 Watt bulbs. My photoperiod is from 6 am to 11 am, and I give it one hour siesta period before turn it on again from 12 pm to 5 pm. I use Wondergro Mac and Mic Plus, and I use Co2 tablets.

My pH is 7.5 and I use a mixture of stem plants, and mosses. My tank specs are: 73 cm x 41.5 cm x 45.5 cm.

These are my plants:

Vallisneria spiralis, Cryptocoryne balansae, C.aponogetifolia, C. pontederifolia, C. nevilli, C. willisi, Java Moss, Java Fern Bacopa monnieri, Hygrophila polysperma, Hygro polysperma sunset, Hygro corymbosa siamensis, Hygro Corymbosa compact, Flame moss, Tiger lotus
