Best LED lights for low light, low tech Amazon biotope tank
Hi all--
I have been a lurker here for months but this is my first post. I've recently put together a 37 gallon (30x12x22h) Amazon biotope tank for my shoal of cory catfish and assorted South American plecos and am looking for what you all think is a good lighting solution for the tank. I constructed a canopy for the tank made of wood that has plenty of space for lighting but as of yet, there is no lighting. I intend to grow Amazon swords, crypts, and flame moss, so I don't need anything too bright, but then again, the tank is rather tall so I have to be sure my plants will get enough light. I've been looking at the Ecoxotic Panorama (http://www.ecoxotic.com/panorama-led-modules.html) and was thinking of getting two of these, but I am of course open to other brands and models that might give me more bang for my buck. What LEDs have you all had success with, and which would you recommend for this sort of tank? |

Another possibility is http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/li...ompendium.html That looks like it gives about the right PAR at 24 inches, around 30-35 micromols of PAR. And, they seem to be designed to go into a canopy, which most LED lights aren't designed for.

Are you talking about the 12" TrueLumen Pro LED Strip Light (8000K Sun White)?

Sorry, I copied and pasted the wrong link. I was referring to the 24 inch long TrueLumen strip light: http://www.current-usa.com/aquarium-...ed-striplights
