Click for the larger image, I just noticed this today it almost looks like a bunch of tiny little red thread but I havent seen anything similar in the websites linked in the forum sticky.

does it move? is it anywhere else in the tank? if so, it might be worms, because that's what those look like to me.
if not, then yeah probably

That section in the middle looks nasty. Looking at some of the leaves away from the middle, I see what appears to be BBA. I believe BBA can take on a red color at times. So that's what I think it is.

You can easily kill BBA with spot treatment of H2O2 or Excel, but I'm not sure how well fissidens can handle either of those.

I just got some excel prior to taking this picture, I also lowered my light cycle which probably caused all that buildup in the first place.

The tank did have worms prior but I have dosed with panacur and haven't seen any since.

ive dosed h202 on my fissidens before and it hasnt bothered it....i didnt leave my pumps off for the recommended 15 min though

Yeah, BBA can be red, green, black or any mix of those and it looks like the early stages of BBA, my tank has a bunch of it so don't do anything drastic.

Excel will definately kill Fissidens and other mosses but I have never tried the H202 spot treatment. Excel will kill any plant if you use too much of it.

H202 didn't kill my java moss the first few times but eventually it did so be careful.
