Well, I thought I saw a shrimp starting to act weird because of the way it was sitting, took a closer look and it turns out it was molting! Pretty neat to see.

That's gotta be a good sign though, right? lol

Yes, they do. Not all the time or all the shrimp in the tank, but water changes can definitely trigger molting. I always have several molt right after a water change.

Mine typically molt overnight after a water change (in the AM the day before), some will molt a couple of days after. People will sometimes do a water change to help with breeding because the females have to molt to release the pheromones. Likewise some people won't do water changes at all (or do verrry small wc) while females are berried because they can molt and possibly lose their eggs. Have you ever gotten shrimps in, got them in the tank and noticed a bunch of molts the next day? It's because of the parameter change.

Is this in the new tank or the original tank?

You'd think molting would be a slow process, like a snake shedding its skin but it's not, it's a grand, dramatic flip out where the shrimp goes flying. Totally weird.

They molt within 24 hours after a water change I would say.

It's still good news . Shows your water quality is decent enough they aren't dying from not being able to molt right? Just not great news :P.
