Algea lover
Am I the only one who doesn't mind a little algea. Especially on the decor. It sucks on the glass obviously, but we grow moss on purpose. I think it makes my one fake decoration look more natural

I don't mind algae all that much, but in planted tanks the issue is with the algae outcompeting the plants and leaving you with an all algae tank
although, one day when I had the time and all, I would love to just have an algae tank, but I'd need a tank to waste/dedicate to that so not likely happening for a long time lol Besides, if I want algae to grow it might just decide not to grow anyways :P |

I welcome algae in my fry/QT tank. It's an alternate source of food, and generally improves water quality.
I once let a plant-only tank go for months with minimal intervention to see what would happen. Different algae and critters appeared from nowhere, only to be replaced by others. It ended up packed with nothing but thread algae. Was kind of pretty. And don't forget Marimo balls are just algae with manners.
