Sieryu stone vs Fluval Stratum

So I've heard that Sieryu stone raises pH and hardness. However, Fluval Plant Stratum claims to lower pH to ~6.8. I'm fine with having my water a little harder, as my tap is actually really soft. But I was wondering how might these two factors interect. Do you think that the fluval stratum can overpower the sieryu stone in terms of pH?

Stone reaction with water will be far slower than the soil. And sieryu stones are used with ADA soils with no noted ill effects on water params
