Producing Mosquito Larvae with the help of turtles

Hi! I just want to share my method of producing mosquito larvae with the use of my pet turtles

Needed:
Turtles
Crates/Aquariums to house turtles
Outdoor environment

Notes:
Turtle to Container ration is 1:2
The Container should be deep enough for the turtle not to escape (approximately 12" deep)

Procedure:
1. Set up a secure, sunny place outdoors
2. Place the containers and fill those that the turtles will use
3. Place turtles and take care of them as you normally would excluding the need for water filtration.
[after a week]
4. Fill the unused container
5. Transfer the turtles.
6. "Flood" (fill all the way up) the containers where the turtles came from.
7. Let is sit for an hour or two.
8. Harvest within 1-3 days for small mosquito larvae and 4-7 days for larger larvae
[after a week]
9. Drain the containers you harvested and refill them to the turtle-friendly depth
10. Repeat from Step 5.

A bucket filled with water will do the same. I place mine under an awning so I don't end with a bunch of leaves in it but the concept is the same. I net the mosquito larvae out once a week, dump the remaining water and start over. It is meant as a once a week treat for my fish not as a daily food source. But this has helped cut down on the mosquito population in my yard as well. Since the mosquitos will breed somewhere regardless if I put out a bucket with water or not, I prefer them to breed in the bucket so I can eliminate the larve before they hatch.

Thanks...I do this too before but I discovered that my pet turtles were attracting mosquitoes so I switched over to this method

the mosquito larvae are fatter that before and more of a darker color
