Coralife RO unit output
I got a Coralife 50gpd RO unit yesterday. I hooked it up to my sink faucet today and started letting it run through the first 10 gallons they say to discard. I'm noticing that the waste to RO ratio is closer to 1:1, and I'm getting about 3 gallons per hour out of it, or almost 75gpd. I tested the waste water and the GH is about 50% higher than tap, and the RO water turns an extremely pale green with one drop. I'm usually one to say if it looks too good to be true, it is, but does this all sound reasonable? If the product water tests extremely soft, then the unit should be working correctly, yes?

I would say, with it being new it will run pretty fast. But after time the waste ratio and gph might get closer to the advertised levels.

Get yourself and inline TDS meter and attach it to the unit. See what the reading is for in/out.

Got it. I'm just used to most claims of capacity being best-case examples that you'll never really attain in the real world. Having something work better than advertised threw me for a loop, especially after reading many people having the complete opposite experience. The water pressure in my house must be pretty high...
