Should I be pairing my Leaf Zone with something else?
Well as the topic states I'm wondering if I should be coupling or adding more/different plant food
The API offers:
Soluble Potash (K2O) 3%
Iron (FE) .10%
.10% is Chleated Iron derived from Potassium Sulfate and Iron EDTA
I haven't really been seeing the green BURST that I was expecting, While I know I am going to be upgrading my lighting here on my 55 soon, I was wondering if there was more that I could do in the lines of feeding the plants, I also currently add 5ml of the CO2 booster also offered by API
Currently in the tank I have:
Java Fern - A good bunch, started with one "potted" plant of it about 2 years ago and it's now quite spread out thanks to some selective repositioning as they spawned new plantlets
Moss Balls - Two of those, pretty standard there
Wysteria - I have one bunch that I have been trying to get moving and it could def be more "lively" It has got to a point about 1/3 up the tank and has decided to stop growing there and start rooting like it was at the surface of the water (which I don't understand because it's nowhere near the surface and I have no-where enough light to make that happen)
2 x 13 watt T8 Power-Glo bulbs (yea i know my WPG is at about a .5 right now)
Natural light from a window 3-4 feet away that gets full sun for about an hour or so to a good portion of the tank - I do leave that open to help out with some natural light
Substrate: Standard medium aquarium gravel
After my next set of lights/bulbs (coming soon my bulbs are about ready to be replaced so I'll have the excuse I need to upgrade lighting...at least thats how my logic will dictate it when I do it ) I want to get a moss wall going and some other moss -- same as the wall -- on one side of the tank to start carpeting it and carrying it across.....so I know I need more lights or will once I get that going to get it to pop and explode the way I want
Also will be looking for some amazons and stuff but thats in the future like august
I'm also going to be adding some more driftwood/Rocks (Real non fake) to finish out the naturalness of the tank (I'm actually shopping driftwood for that portion now...)
So I guess ultimately I'm asking should I do the following:
** Continue using Leaf Zone alone.....
** Start using Leaf Zone along with another product.....
** Discontinue use of Leaf Zone and use a completely different product(s)
** Ive got a big bottle of the CO2 Booster is that helping the situation or should I start looking into like a paintball kit.....
Thanks for your time and sorry about the SUPER WALL OF TEXT DESTRUCTION, if I left anything out please give me a holler
BTW This is the tank as it looked about 2 weeks ago......
I've been putting off getting a lot of the plans going that I've had for this tank for far too long, I can't wait to get it fully "natural" (the fake stuff was added because my loaches desperately needed a dark place they were not happy without one and I kinda of just threw those in for the situation >< ) which is my ultimate goal, and now my work schedule is going to allow me to get going with it
