perhaps a little more detail as to what you're wanting to build would help... what size tank, how many bulbs, what kind of bulbs, ballast, how much light do you want, how much are you willing to spend, etc?

I would just track down a workhorse 5 from Fulham and get two 36 watt cf bulbs(67k) from a local lighting supply store(they might carry fulham ballasts). They will probaly also have the straight pin moisture-resistant endcaps...."Let your fingers do the walking"

wiring diagram just select quad flat under lamp type and 2 x 36 watt under wattage. next select the work horse five under the diagrams.

You can sometimes find complete kits on ebay. should cost you around $65-70.

or you can buy the cheap shoplight from home depot (in a white box) and pull the electronic ballist from it to use on a tank. It should be a sunspark ballast. just use all the wiring and ends but shorten them up for your application. you can use t5 or t8 "plant lights" or full spectrum lights from the store. I would look for 24 to 36 watt t8 bulbs.

How long is the tank?

Cheers, Whitepine
