Driftwood cleaning
I found cool birch DW in MIL's backyard. It's too big to boil and my husband refused to let me bake it. So I soaked it in bleach over night in a 5g bucket. I then soaked it in water with a lot of dechlorinator for a day. Is putting it in the dishwasher with a lot of dechlorinator enough to have rid it of all the bleach? (I did that while my husband was sleeping

Sounds good. I always soak my wood for a few days after soaking in bleach water - changing the dechlorinated water everyday.
I might also soak it again in dechlorinated water after having put it through the dishwasher, just in case any residual dish detergents made its way into the wood. You could also try manually adding hot water from the stove into your 5g bucket to help dilute any remaining bleach, &c.

Also bleach evaporates well in warmth and sunlight, so sitting out for a day in the sun is a good precaution as well.
