Low tech and high tech t8 lighting question
I plan on setting up a couple 10 gallons under a 48" t8 dual bulb fixture w/6500k bulbs. I am going to build a stand that has two different levels. I want 1 of the tanks to be low tech 1 to be high tech. I would like to do this do I can see the difference between the two tanks I plan to plant them with the same plants. How far should each tank be from the fixture? Is this enough light for a high tech 10g?

It depends on how you want to define "high tech". If you mean the use of CO2 and EI fertilizing, then you will see the difference easily. If you mean high light as well as CO2 and EI fertilizing, it isn't going to give you high light, with only one bulb, but with two bulbs it will be high light. Assuming you use two bulbs, for low light, which is needed for non-CO2 tanks, keep the light about 16 inches from the substrate.

The high tech will have pressurized co2 and ei w/ dry ferts I will have two bulbs over both tanks since I am using on fixture. So is the 16" for the high tech or the low tech?
