Need help with Lighting 55G tank

Hello, I am pretty new to setting up a planted tank, but my gf who is more of an expert is helping me with it. We finally decided on our substrate, which is a bit experimental.

Anyways our trouble is lighting. How do we get a med-high lighting for our 55gal tank. None of the LFS stores sell high enough wattage bulbs.

So how do we set up a good cheap diy lighting/cheap for sale kit for our 55g

If anybody has instructional step by step and exact equipment that we will need that will be great.

Also we are on a student budget so we are a bit limited, but still want to grow great plants.

Home depot has a dual t8 hanging fixure for 20 bucks they sell 6500k bulbs for a few bucks a piece this should put you at medium light if you get a four bulb set up that will put you at light. I'm assuming sine uoure on a budget you will not be running pressurized c02 so I would go with the two bulb and a DIY co2 set up
