Beautiful bermuda! I judged a planted tank show!

I just wanted to share a few links with you guys. I was blown away by the hospitality of the Bermuda club.

Next up, I got to present a new presentation to their club. It seemed to be really well received. I also was asked to judge their home show. They had two categories for tank design- Natural Aquarium and Design Aquarium. From how I understood it, the natural was a planted tank and the design was supposed to be based on strenght of hardscape. I blogged about it on my site, and thought you guys may be interested. Keep in mind, importation of plants is STRICTLY prohibited here, so all aquascape materials have to come from other people on teh island. What they did with limited resources is amazing. Also note, there is only captured freshwater available on the island- most water changes are not done weekly, as drinking water, bathing water, etc have to come first. The depth and skill of the aquascapers was amazing to me! They certainly got some good results!

Nice photos, those are great tanks from limited resources!! I'm just guessing that you had a blast on this trip?

that looks like an awesome trip... Looks like a passionate club despite the limitedness of plants. did you go to the beach at all? there are great waves in bermuda. I was planning on going this year but decided on nicaragua instead.

No, I didn't go to the beach. Most native Bermudians do not hit the beach until after the 24th of May holiday (incidentally, today). teh weather was also pretty gray when I was there (unusual for this time of year). I hope to go back to visit the club again, next time AFTER the 24th of May so I can do some boating and beach time.
