New Plants Ghost Away
Why is it that whenever I buy plants from fellow members on here most of them seem to ghost away completely? Some only ghost partially, like a few leaves, but my last batch which included 6 stems L. inclinata 'cuba' and 15 stems of R. colorata ghosted away to nothing. I use a bleach dip of around 1% when most recommend 5%-10% and I only dip for a minute or so. My 55 gal tank parameters are pretty much perfect and I inject CO2 and dose EI if that info helps. Is this normal? will what ever is left below the substrate grow back? Its frustrating.

Do you mean MELT? if so more than likely adjusting to the NEW tanks parameters.

Yes, i guess I do mean melt. Right now my lighting is 2x65wPC. I just switched to EI dosing from Seachem dosing about 2 weeks ago. I just noticed that some of my older plants that have been in the tank for more than a year are also starting to do this. My water sprite in particular. Newer leaves on this one seem to be losing the "meat" of the leaves between the veins. Im following the EI schedule for 40-60gal tank thats stickied at the top of the "water parameters" section here. 1/2 tsp KNO3 3x week, 1/8 tsp KH2PO4 3x week, 1/8 tsp K2SO4 3x week, and then 1/8 tsp Millers Micro complex and a pinch of Fe+2 (10%) 3x week on the alternating days. Is this just my plants adjusting to the new dosing regimen?
