CBS vs Bumble bee

It seems like CBS is more popular than Bumble bee. From pictures, they look alike to me. So why is that? Easier to take care?

Quite the opposite I believe. Bumblebee is what CRS and CBS came from, from my understanding. They have poor coloration and patchy patterns.

CBS are much better looking and more solid.

Some people call CRS/CBS bumble bee or bee. So you may be seeing pictures of actual CBS that someone is calling a bee. We can't give links to AB here, but there is one person, mgamer (who's also here I believe) that has what I think are real bumble bees for sale. They have the dark stripes like a CBS but the rest of them look like they're almost clear, or at least that's what it looks like in the photo.

Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Visually, breviata have black heads, cantonensis don't.

I don't know about Breviata, but the original CRS comes from a type of shrimp called bee shrimp. Bee shrimp is so general because there are so many that qualify. The original CRS is believed to have come from a bee type shrimp that was red, probably somewhere along the lines of a B grade.

Actually, I thought they were breeding blacks for a while and then the red mutation popped up in wild bee's that were being bred to what we know as CBS know and basically all red crystals come from that first one.

So are you saying that CBS are easier to take care?

Not a lot of people are keeping true bumble bee shrimp.

I think that the care is relatively similar to that of bee shrimp (CRS/CBS).

I have never seen a picture of a bumblebee shrimp where it had as solid or intense coloration (either the black or the white sections) as even lower grade CBS. As far as I know no one has offered any sort of selectively bred line of bumblebee shrimp in the US though I have to imagine that the Asian shrimp breeders are working on something.
