Nice! Cant wait till it fills in, there are really a lot of plants you could use including many of the rotala and ludwigia species for filling in. I would also like to see some grass plants in there for another texture, maybe microsword or hairgrass or blyxa, if you like blyxa check out my 20 long thread- http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/ta...pdate-5-a.html

Update! Update! All my shrimp died. :C I dunno if I'll try again in the future, but I certainly won't be buying them from Petco again.
I got rid of most of the plants I don't want. I also cut the bacopa down and replanted in a way I like better. And I got rid of the 10K bulb that was washing out the tank.

Any better pictures? I like what you have going on with the hardscape on the left of the photo, would love a better look!

Shrimp are sensitive to Excel. A better alternative to Excel with fish that are sensitive to it is Brightwell aquatics FlorinAxis. If the plants still need the Excel I dose half the amount recommended with FlorinAxis.

About a month in, I'm really starting to see real growth, here you can see the 3 new leaves my Melon sword sprouted in about the last week. They're really nice and dark:
![]() And here my Wisteria has grown almost to the top (albeit curved to get direct light): ![]() And a bonus beauty shop of my zebra nerite:

Wow, it's been a long time since I updated this. I'm not completely satisfied with it yet. The glosso looks like crap, my stems are melting, and that driftwood sits there so bare. Hopefully everything will be solved with my better lights and CO2. This was the best FTS I could get, my camera SUCKS at it, so mind the glare. My honeycombs also do this.

Possibly dosing with KNO3 (potassium nitrate) would help your stem plants. Has helped my stem plants in the past. You can get your water tested at a pet store. |
