Biocube planted shrimp tank
I figured it was about time to start posting my tank. I have had this Biocube 14 for at least six years now, it started out as a reef tank and has gone back and forth between fresh and salt over the years. For the past two years I have had it set up as a planted tank and decided a few months ago to give shrimp a try. I ended up pulling a lot of my plants out and changing out the substrate. I left some of the black sand on the bottom layer to give the plants something more to grab onto and put a top layer of the fluval shrimp stratum. For filtration I have the middle chamber stuffed with seachem matrix and some Purigen in the first chamber. I also added a sponge filter in the tank just for fun, I don't believe in too much filtration. Since I am keeping CRS I added an Iceprobe chiller on an external canister filter which hangs off the back of the tank. It has been keeping my temps between 73-75. It is currently back at the manufacturer getting some new connectors so can't show pics of how it is set up yet, hopefully it will be back this week. I believe that about covers the tank, now for my favorite part....pictures!
FTS...don't mind some of the hair algae. I have been fighting it for a while now, starting to get it under control Some of the inhabitants... Just got these from Kangshiang last week Have had these for a few months now... That is all for now. This is my first time keeping shrimp so any suggestions or comment are appreciated.
