I wasn't sure if I liked it until I saw the last pic with the HC. Then I could see how sloped it was. Nice.
Dry start may be a pain with that slope. I also am not a fan of dry start with HC, even though I have been successful every time and didn't have issues after flooding. I may sprinkle and let it root but that's it. I find it grows more quickly submersed with co2. Many people get bad algae but that isn't even my reason. Look forward to another 60F. I love these tanks, even though I don't even want one lol.

Added more soil and hc toward the left side. I'm pretty happy with the results. Let the dry start begin lol.

Nice work on the scape... What was that divider you used between the sand and AS?

Is that rock on the far left out of the water? You should put some sort of emersable moss or maybe HC on it.

Thanks guys. All in all, I'm happy with how it came out. Now I just have to wait on the hc to grow in a bit. An recommendation on what to use for background plants?
The plastic divider was a piece of plastic I found laying in my garage lol. And yes the far left stone is just above the rim. I may decide to do that. Thannks of the suggestion. |

My favorite plant is red ludwigia (not ludwigia repens). It is super easy for how much color it has. I still love the more common ludwigia glandulosa if the leaf size fit your scape. Rotala macrandra is one of my favorite red plants but I personally have had no luck. Other people find it easy for a red plant though. Will likely try it again. I know none of these are rare but still some of my favorites.
