What did they send me? (Fish ID)

So after not being able to track down any Emerald Dwarf Rasbora's anywhere in the area (LFS even ordered them for me, turned out they ordered Emerald Eye Rasboras?" even though I gave them the scientific name too...) my girlfriend ordered me a batch of 5 off a fish website. They sent an extra fish, for their live arrival guarantee and all, but the extra fish they sent isn't an EDR, and I have no idea what it is. I'm keeping him in a tank with 5 Least Killie fry, so I want to ID him to make sure when/if he gets bigger, he's not going to make a snack out of them. This is the best picture I could get of him, hopefully someone can tell what he is. One big thing I see on him that is different from most fish I've seen really ever, is that his front fins (not sure what those are called) seem to point upward, and go over his head/body.
Here is the picture:

Maybe some sort of strange rainbowfish?

I dunno, looks too small to be any kind of rainbow. It's about the size of an average CPD if you can't tell by the picture, maybe a little smaller really. The markings do look like it, but the shape of it's body and especially the placement of the eyes make me think it's something other than a rainbow.

I lied, I went and just googled "nano fish" and the "Gertrudae Rainbow" popped up and it looks like them in terms of the body shape and fins and all. Definitely not as vibrant though.

looks like a rasbora to me, but certainly NOT a Emerald Dwarf Rasbora's (aka cross banded danio) I have a pretty sizable group of the CBD/EDR in my tank, great little fish.

Have you asked the folks that sent you the fish? It could simply be a random "contaminant" (unknown fish that got sent along with whatever they ordered from their distributor) that they passed along to you.

Minnow was the first thing that I thought too, but the front fins being located towards the top of the body (you can't tell in that picture) are making me think it's a type of rainbow. If it is, it's still pretty small (under an inch) so I have no idea what kind it might be. It doesn't look too decorated though. I'll try to get a better picture when I find my cameras battery charger.

Rainbows have 2 dorsal fins (the fins on the back).. If this guy doesn't have them, he's not a rainbow.

It looks like an Orange Chela, or Chela dadiburjori to me. http://www.danios.info/fish/dadiburjori.aspx

Cute little guy though.

I think it's a rasbora. It does not look like a Rainbowfish or Tetra because they are lacking adipose fins and the ones for rainbows.
