KH/PH chart question

When using this chart should i use the PH of my water while the CO2 is on? or should i use the PH from water that has been removed for the tank for 24hrs to allow the CO2 to escape?

I would think you'd use the pH without CO2. That's your true pH anyway. Adding CO2 will lower the measured pH value, but it's essentially a false measurement and is in no way indicative of the actual pH of the water.

If you're using it to calculate your CO2 then you would measure pH when the CO2 is on.

The actual pH is whatever you measure with a calibrated pH probe. When CO2 is added, the actual pH drops, and that is the pH you use with the table to determine how much CO2 is in the water - or it would be if your water was "perfect", distilled water with nothing in it to affect pH other than carbonates, bicarbonates and CO2. Our aquarium water almost never meets that requirement.

Ok, so I'll go with the PH when the co2 is running. Thanks all.

Is the KH/pH chart a recommendation for CO2 insertions, or an accurate way to calculate CO2 without having any diffuser/insertions?

its really only a guideline/estimate as to how much CO2 is in your water. Its not 100% accurate, just something to go by.

Its between 15% and 90% accurate depending on whats in ur water... waaayyy too many variables. If ur ph from the tap is 6 and kh of 22. U dont have 300ppm c02. U likely only have 2-3ppm unless more is injected.

Not accurate. Too many other things in the water affecting the pH.
