Uuuuuggggghhh...HC carpet
My dry start 10G is SOOOOOO slow. I have HC, DHG, and micro sword. I plan on adding L. arcuata once the HC carpet fills. But it's taking forever. Would it be worth it to jus fill the tank and just let the HC carpet submersed? I want my CRS in NOW! :P
You can tell that I have little patience because the tank has only been up for a week. LOL. |

Edit It's probably best to flood the tank because I have planaria. Plus the planaria bodies will speed up the cycle once the tank is flooded
what do you guys think?

You should give it at least a month for good growth before filling. Are you dosing ferts? What kind of substrate?

Yeah, I know that I need to give it at least a month, but the wait is so boring. I am dosing ferts, and I am using Fluval Shrimp Stratum. What can I do about the planaria?

wait a bit longer. the whole point of doing a dry start is to develop roots and an established plant before you flood. Small organisms should not bother things much. Just hold on for a few months, they'll die when you flood. be patient. Also make sure you don't overdose, solutes may build up.
