Hello, I recently moved to Seattle. Haven't posted about my tanks here but I keep red rili shrimp, bettas, guppies, one albino bristlenose pleco, and many species of plants. I just set the tanks up after the move so they aren't that pretty yet.

No, the shrimp have their own little 3.5 gallon and the rest are in a 20. I've also got some Indian White Banded shrimp on the way that I'm hoping can live in the community tank.

Hi emmynk,

Welcome! There is a whole herd of our 'plantheads' at the Greater Seattle Aquarium Society (GSAS). You just missed our last meeting for the summer, our next meeting is in September but check us out. You won't believe the unusual and 'rare' plants we have in the monthly 'mini-auctions' that follow the meetings.

Christel Kasselmann @ GSAS Sept, 2012

Hey I am in Seattle. Just starting in the planted tank. I am already running into hair algae and dying plants problems. LOL

Anyone know where to buy ADA substrate or anyone wanna order some together to save on shipping? Thanks.

Hi Unikorn,

Cory, at aquarium Co-Op purchases his common plants species from a distributor but he also purchases many of the more 'exotic 'species that you see in his store from GSAS members. The Fish Store on Lake City Way NE does the same. Many of the GSAS 'plantheads' hang out on 'airstone' the GSAS e-mail chat and/or on WA Fishbox.
