OK SO I LOOKED INTO MY 10 GALLON TODAY AND I LOOKED AT THE FILTHYNESS OF THE TANK AND I SAW BABIES.

This tank has been using tap water which has a ph around 8, with a TDS around 300. :O

Also I basically was calling it quits and ready to shut it down and scoop out the CPOs. The male cpo killed 4 CPDs and 4 microrasbora and 1 killie. ALL OF WHICH I NEVER SCOOPED OUT. I also ran 2 CO2 hagen tanks on it. Also I have detritus all over the place and a 3 month old sponge filter along with a semi competent aquatech 10 gallon hob filter.

IMAGINE THE FILTH. YET THE FEMALE STILL HAD BABIES.

Durable sons of a guns.

Would you guys keep a CPO in a 10G with some PFR's, a pair of scarlet badis, some CPD's, and some Pygmy cory's? I really want one, but all my tanks have shrimp lol

If you're going to get CPOs, just know that it's very likely that they will try to catch your shrimp and fish, they're just not very successful at it. However, I'm almost certain one of mine took out a neon tetra...it had to be a fluke though, perhaps the neon got stuck in the plants.

I've never seen them catch an Amano, Neo or Card shrimp, but they try and try. They did eat one of my ghost shrimps, but that shrimp was probably sick or molting. They're too slow.

Currently, I have my CPOs with some CRS and Cherries. But, you have to be OK with the fact that it is possible they could catch your fish and shrimps.

About breeding.. in my limited experience, my female has berried 3 or more times, but I never saw any young. There should be enough hiding places, so I'm not sure what the issue is.
