Thats about all the carpeting plants.. There is also hydrocotyle sp. 'japan', Ranunculus indatus(sp?), and Staurogyne repens, S. Porto velho, and S. purple.

I saw some great UG carpet. But it seems like they get really really thick???? I am not sure if this would carpet nicely. From what I understand, they're pretty tall.

From my understanding, MQ stays pretty low.
MN and MQ one has bigger leaves. Forgot which one it was.

Hi green valley,
I find that it depends on the lighting, CO2 or not, and water conditions but Marsilea minuta is one of the easier ones. Marsilea minuta

MM is pretty easy. dhg is not hard either. both will grow fine under medium-low lighting levels.
In my experience HC is pretty hard and whenever i recieved glosso in the mail it had melted. E. Tennelus is the easiest foreground plant you can use. it doesnt require a lot of light to form a carpet although it will grow kind of tall., and under high light it spreads real fast and will grow low.

moss is the easiest plant to care for.
and it can be made into a carpet: take plastic or stainless steel mesh and cut 2 identical pieces, each that fits the area you want carpeted. put moss inbetween them, place something to weigh it down in too staple or tie the mesh together. place in tank and the moss will grow out through the mesh. if you have CO2, than you can carpet riccia. riccia is a weed, and can survive floating in every tank. in a CO2 tank it can be tied to rocks and forms a carpet very quickly.

E. Tennelus is easily breaking a 12" mark in my high light tank and does spread like fire. About 3-4" in a med-light tank, and ~1" in a low-med tank. In the low-med light only rocks grow slower.

Not my taste of carpeting. ![]() Quote:

FYI, E. Tennelus was renamed to Helanthium tenellum.
