I'm not really sure what other cichlid would work. You definitely shouldn't do any african cichlids and you shouldn't do any of the larger south american cichlids (oscars or convicts for example)

I think the angel, ram, neons and Cpds make a good list.

Just so you know, once the angels are full grown, they'll need a bigger tank than a 29G

I went to my lfs and talked to them about stocking and have come to this conclusion. What do you guys think?
1 german blue ram
1 keyhole cichlid
8 cardnial tetras
4 male guppies
3 ottos

What happened to the CPDs?

Personally I hate guppies, but that just personal preference.

I don't have experience with keyholes, I took a quick read and it sounds like it would be ok. Not sure if the GBR would be too territorial with it though. From what I read keyholes and should not be kept with aggressive species. I have seen instances where 1 ram takes over the entire bottom of 29 gallon tank and I have seen instances where they share space with others. Just depends the personality of the individual fish.

If it were me I would go with the previous list you proposed, but its your tank you should do what you want.

Some people like to keep rams in pairs as they feel they do better that way. Its up to you though.

The German blue rams in general, prefer soft, warm water, around 80 to 82 degrees F.(Bolivian ram's accept wider range of water condition's)
Cardinal's would be happy with this as well.
Cory's,oto's, and celestial pearl danios would prefer temps not much warmer than 78 degrees F, and 75 degfrees F would be better over the long haul.
Guppies prefer hard alkaline water, and would not be a consideration for me in soft water.
Have kept or am keeping all of the fish mentioned, and these are my finding's supported by other fish keeper's, and most literature .
