I would use the old sponge out of the filter lol, but I don't run a filter in the other tank. Just a powerhead and lots of plants. I don't think it's the newest stuff from ADA. I got this substrate about a year and a half ago, but just got to use it. It's a long story. But it's Amazonia II I believe.

This is the tank with the Coralife fixture over the top. Notice how much is on each side of the light. I just don't think the fixture is wide enough......

ASA II will still be leaching for some time... All the Amazonias leach forever!

If it's possible, maybe raise the fixture a bit for more spreading of the light.

I wish I could. I guess I could buy the hanging hardware, I was just scared that would give me even less light considering the depth of the tank now......

gotta go to bed.....hopefully dreams of fully planted tank with spreading glosso and healthy C. Helferi.......plus the tank looks like it needs a red plant, no?
