It's native to Mediterranean climates, which is where I also happen to live.
Grows year round outside.

Glosso BABY! Isn't that rad! All those little flowers too. I hope mine turns out like that. If not, I'm going to give HC a try. Sorry about posting the wrong pic. It looks way better in real life too.

This is a very fascinating article that I had to share. It is long, but very interesting. http://www.artofbonsai.org/feature_articles/aims.php

I stand corrected! For some reason I got the impression you lived in a dry environment with low humidity.

Tom and I both live in Sacramento. I would say the humidity is between 40 and 60% in our area. The Sac river help us out.

We do and it's Hot, 100-110F most of the summer months. Just a little bit less than a desert. I water daily.

But you could grow all these plants and trees nicely in the UK for example..........

Delta breeze.............air conditioned by God Himself.
I need to move back to Marin where it's 70-80F all summer long and more rain, no smog, grass fires.

It is why I moved to CA.
This is my local 45 mile bike ride over Mt Tam through Redwoods. They do a lot of car commercials on this road, it's an epic ride(about 4000ft of climbing though) and awesome drive.
Nice view 2000ft below

50ft water fall right on to the beach.

Along the way to the Mt Tam:

Lily pond.

Nice aquatic native species there and lots of nice aquatics along the trail to the water fall.

Nice! I'd love to see what it looks like from the side! Is it too late to defoliate my Trident Maple? I don't think it's a good idea for my tree, though... patience.

On a side note, I was extremely fortunate to be able to visit the Chicago Botanic Garden on a recent trip, I will post pictures when I get home, or to a hotel tonight. It was one of the most amazing experiences ever, right up there with AFA!

Not the best pic, but as requested. It needs to fill in a little more.

I like it! I forget, did you purchase it from a dedicated bonsai nursery, or a "regular" nursery?
