8g compatibility and quatities to add

I have an 8g tank that has just finished cycling and was hoping if I could get some advice about compatibility and quantities of fish to slowly add in. This is my first planted tank and bear with me on how it looks right now because I still need to plant my minuta and wait for my driftwood to stop floating before I can lay out the tank the way I want it to. (If you have suggestions though, please let me know! I'm open to feedback). I may still add more plants once I get more comfortable. But, here are the inhabitants I was going to eventually add unless you suggest otherwise:

Boraras Brigittae
Corydoras Habrosus
Horned Nerite Snails
Amano Shrimp and/or Red Cherry Shrimp
Betta (Current inhabitant but if he doesn't play nice, I can move him out if you think he will mess with the other critters)

The Boraras Brigittae could probably fit through the vents in that picture. They are TINY.

Depending on your betta's personality, he might ignore the BB or go after them. We have two bettas in my house. They have never been in the same tank with the BB. However, I'm confident one wouldn't pay any attention but the other would probably kill them. That second one was with ember tetras for a few months until one day when he decided to start killing them. He was moved to his own Timeout Box.

I am in a similar situation I just got my 8 gallon fluval up and running I stocked it with RCS and some Cardinal Tetras. 6 Shrimp and 4 Carninals.

The shrimp are the best I am now thinking to get a 20 gallon Long and get more shrimp!

I would go with Amano Shrimp, Boraras Brigittae, and a Nerite. The BBs are tiny. I have some in my 12 gallon along with Amanos.

Any recommendations on amounts to possibly add in? I can definitely add some sort of DIY screen for the vent if the bb's go through that easily

In an 8 gallon, you could have 10 or maybe 12 BB. They are tiny tiny fish with very little bioload. 4-6 corydoras habrosus. 3-4 nerites. 5-7 amanos. Your choice, really.

Wow, that is a lot more than what I was going to put in. Is that assuming its a maxed out tank?

Way maxed out. I overstock my tanks because they are heavily planted and I perform good water changes multiple times a week. With nanos, this (water change) is a must for keeping algae under control.

Check my Ebi journal out. Before the tank got cooked, I had a dozen Boraras brigittae and it was way under stocked. I think your tank could handle at least 20.

Start with 10-12 (really, the minimum number for them to feel comfortable) to see if you like the group. If you do and feel like the tank can handle more, add the rest a few weeks later.

Cherry Shrimp would give the tank an extra pop of color, as well. They'll also breed so quickly that the B. brigittae won't be able to dent the population much by eating babies.
