I am currently upgrading to a pressurized co2 system with an external reactor. I have a fluval 304 cannister on the tank and am trying to figure out how to attach a different tubing onto it rather then the current tubing. The best way to describe it is pool line tubing if anyone has done this or can help any tips would be appreciated thanks -

Get some hose barbs:
http://www.plumbingsupply.com/barb.html

The ones at that link are brass, but you should be able to find something in Nylon or PVC at your local hardware store that would be preferable to brass (machineable brass has free lead in it). For my Eheim with 12mm inner diameter hose. 1/2inch barbs work. You probably want to use a hose clamp over these to ensure a hose doesn't slip off.

My external reactor is now complete just have to wait for the co2 set up to gett here. Hopefully on the 25th here is a pic of it. Also the reactor still smells like the glue/primer so I am running it in hopes to "wash" it out. Thanks for all those who helped. I am planning on running it with the rio i had for the in the tank reactor I had built w/ the diy generator

If you need to order the barbs, www.usplastics has a great selection. If you have a planted tank its easy to justify an order of misc stuff make the S&H reasonable.

I use the different barbs in this reactor;
