I haven't slept since Friday night. Meet with my attorney Sat afternoon, had a family meeting Sat & small party after. My attorney strongly advised against this thread but, I can't resist.

As some of you may know there was a BIG winner from Illinois last Friday. Not all of the money but, more than enough for a guy my age. It's still mind boggling thinking about how much money that is. I'm just starting to understand how it can change one's life.

Anyway one thing I've always said if I win, I'd do something nice for my friends. I'm on several other boards for other hobbies. On my favorite Dog board I'd like to put together a group to visit France this year for the FCI international dog show...it mirrors AKC's Westminster with dog's from around the world. I have one friend from the USA that will be handling there.

I'm a Scion XB owner, don't LOL but I am keeping it. Never know when I'll want to "Blend in" and travel on the down low. I 'd like to see if I could rent the Indy Speedway for a day and have Scion XB day. Don't LOL to us it would be a real race day.

That brings me to this board. I've meet a lot of nice people here and made some good friends. I've always wanted a big Discus tank of wild caught Heckels. So I think it would be fantastic to go to the Rio Negro and get them myself. I think a group of 10 would be max that would work. Of course it would be my party. I have 4 close friends here that I would have to invite 1st. They know who they are. I'm not sure how I'd pick the other 5? But, it would be random. Maybe a specific post at specific times? Maybe the next person to become a bronze members? I'd be open to suggestion.

Anyway, I just had to tell someone. More to follow. I'm going back and try to sleep.

Congrats Frank, that is just awesome. It boggles the mind that !!!! I am glad it happened to someone with some common and money sense. Sad thing is most people who win are broke again after five years. I dont think you will let that happen.

Holy crap! Congratulations!!! What a luck of the draw!
I'm sure things are going to be different for you, and new experiences are abound. It is so very thoughtful of you to think of your board forum friends in the way that you are. I am glad that there are still those in the world that actually take time to appreciate the people they spend time with, even if the friendship is something that has been created and maintained via the net.

At least now you can fulfill all of your hobby wishes!!

First off Congrats!

I think everybody that bought a ticket had the money spent many times over. I got in a small office pool (small company), and lord knows how many people in my family didn't need to work anymore by the time my drive home was over! The ultimate fantasy these days.

I'll be honest I don't know who you are as I am a noobie here. I also am not interested in going on the trip as I won't have the time and need to put school first right now

But, I did want to post to congratulate you, though! That is really awesome!!

Just be wise with how you spend it. I'd take a good portion of it and put it into savings or some type of long term investment so that you ensure your money will be making you more money. There's of course no reason to spend it as quickly as possible. However, a trip to Rio Negro would be amazing, especially to catch the fish you've always wanted. That's something I think a very few people ever get the chance to experience and I'm sure everyone going with you would be very appreciative!

And renting the Indy Speedway would be very cool too! I'm a car enthusiast also (Acura RSX) and frequent local autocross events regularly as that's what's within my budget. However, an event coming up will be at the Daytona International Raceway and I can't wait!
