re-scaping input needed

I hope people don't mind that I'm cross-posting this since I didn't get any replies in the aquascaping forum.

I need some input. First, I'm really sorry about the picture quality. I can never seem to take good pictures of my tank. It doesn't look quite as bad as it does in the picture. The "tree" especially is very green and lush.

What I have right now (sorry about spelling of these names) is Anubias nana petite and Willow moss on the drift wood. Right in front of the drift wood in the corner is one reg size Anubias nana (I think I'd like to find a little rock to put it on, so it's not in the substrate).

Around the slate under the driftwood is Lilianopsis mauritiana. What was supposed to be a lawn is Marsilea minuta. And then in the far corner is dwarf sag.

It's a low tech 30 gal tank with Eco-complete as a substrate. I dose with just a general liquid fertilizer and excel. I have hard water and my pH is 7.6. I keep the temp at 74F. I have 7 amano shrimp, 2 ottos and 2 dwarf gourami. I will hopefully be adding a small school of fish in the future. I have to do some research about what fish would do well.

My plans are as follows: leave the driftwood alone, move all the M. minuta to the front so that it's thicker and just in the foreground. In the place of the dwarf sag I think I will put a little rock with some willow moss to make a big willow moss bush. But I was also thinking of something like a cabin but not sure how to do that. Like if I could find a little ceramic cabin and then make the roof out of willow moss by putting a screen onto of it. I love this:

But obviously it's way beyond my skills. But maybe something a little like that, but smaller, like a cave-type structure with willow moss as a roof. What do you think?

And then I really need some suggestions on what larger plants would 1) look right in the back behind the M.minuta when I move it to the front and 2) be pretty hardy and do ok in hard water/low tech environment.

I want the background to look more bushy/foresty I think. Thanks for any suggestions!
