Wow I need my 10 gallon NOW. I would love a tank like that, but with some hard scape. I guess I shouldn't bother with expensive lighting, those lights seem to work great! What is the wattage on the lightbulbs? Are they fluorescent or regular? What ferts are you dosing? Just excel? How often and how much? Sorry for all the questions, but your tank is so simple but amazing. Thanks!
Also, do you have any fish in there? Or just the shrimp.

Thanks Robotponys! Yea, these lights have worked real good for me, they are 2 13watt cfl's placed vertically. I have them hanging on chains so that I can adjust their height. I previously had them at approx. 6 inches above the waterline, but as the plants have grown more, I have been able to lower the lights a lot more without having to worry about sparking an algae bloom. My dosing hasn't been that consistent, I try and just go by visual indicators of what's needed. I started off with excel, flourish, and iron, then stopped dosing for a while. Then later added nitrogen and potassium into my dosing schedule (went from a few times a week to once-a-day, at one point) for about a month, then stopped dosing once again. So, I usually dose for a month, stop for a month, dose for a month, and stop for a month, and so on. Of course, this tank has also gone through two green water phases so that plays into it. For about a month, I was dosing a mix of both micro and macro nutrients daily (dry ferts), but have stopped dosing for about 2 weeks now. Also, I should add that when I used to do water changes, I would use 2 gallons of R/O water and 1 gallon tap water. But, for about 2 months now have been using only tap water for water changes, which seems to be having a positive effect on the plants as well, since tap water contains a good mixture of nutrients in small amounts. I was sort of expecting some taller grass, and not a plant explosion. that's so awesome! CO2 with ferts wins hands down... nice work with this tank. looks FAB!

wow that's great growth. I love how full you're grass got. You're doing all this with only excel? and Co2 or have you started adding fertz now?
