I am starting to imagine something similar to Black Friday at Wal-Mart. People fighting over spots at the door, camping out the night before, getting trampled when they let the flood gates open, bratty kids, yelling parents, people tackling each other for the last container of discounted flake food etc, etc.....hey if nothing else, it could be a really awesome people watching experience!

With the tent even they had before, it was cash only. People grab something and wouldn't let go until they get someone to go hit the ATM for cash. They had great deal with tanks as well. I remember used 40gal drilled breeder for $10.

Remember, it is not just a fish store. Those days are gone. You used to have to park all along the grass field.

I'm really hoping that this isn't the case.

I have an hour and a half drive to get there, and I know exactly what I need. I'd like to look around a bit, as I've actually never been there, but I'm prepared for it to be a little too crazy for my tastes.

Hopefully I'll get there at opening as planned, head right to the fish, pick my puffers out, and head home to enjoy the rest of the day acclimating them to the tank.

I can always make another trip some other day to browse.

kcart, you've never been there!!!???!!! You're going to be completely overwhelmed! Such an awesome place to go just to 'window shop'. As far as parking is concerned I have a very secret parking spot. Let just say I'm affiliated with a company within walking distance of the store. If all else fails and I can't find a spot near the store I know where I can park! Mwhahaha! I'm planning on getting there as close to opening as possible too. I just can't remember when the doors open.

kcart, I'll keep my eyes open for the woman holding a bag of 37 dwarf puffers and say hi!

Nope, never been! That's a small part of why I'm so antsy to go! I know I could spend an entire day there and not manage to see everything.

Only 5 dwarf puffers, unless I lose my willpower. I'm sure the husband will try to reel me in! If you see someone too busy looking into their fish bag to keep from running into walls and such, though... that's probably me.

Haha! The least your husband could to is tie a rope to your waist and try to pull you in the right direction!

Got out of the house a lot later than I wanted, but I'm about half an hour away now! So excited to finally get my puffers after 5 years!

I didn't get there until 6PM. IMHO, sale wasn't that good. I am never interested in any of their livestock so I never walk into that room. I got a few container or R/O right and reef flakes. Price was OK, not great but figured I was there anyway. I did manage to snatch up a TDS monitor for $30.

Don't even get me started with their discus. For fish, I think Aquarium Center stock is better. TPP is nothing like the way it was in the 1980s

I started going there in the late 1980's. It used to be call That Fish Place. They had once a month fish and tank sale. that's how I started discus but unfortunately, good stock was not always available and the public Internet didn't exist to provide all the info.

Bill, I am only a few years younger.. I know.. I look 25 right.. LOL
