figured instead of 30 some odd pages, i would just start a new thread.

anyways, steve, here's that t5no over my emersed bin

and while weeding through the stuff in my emersed tank, i found this little cutie that i found in my shrimp net a while back and have been growing in the e.t. decided that since the e.b. has better lighting now, that i would move it with the anubias that steve gave me, and that menagerie of java fern that i got from Joe. we'll see how things are the next time i open that bin, in a few weeks...lol

No nimmy, it is not a floater. Best bet is to cut each little plant and plant them individually, but you alsocan cut them into little groups and plant them like the pic i'm about to take

is glosso easy to grow plant?

it is easy to grow. high light and co2 will make it grow faster. let it grow up at first, then trim it down and it will start to grow across your tank
this was 2/23/12 in my low light no co2 ebi (8gal)

and this was 3-18-12. same tank before i took it down.

Found a couple of corroded wires, so i ended up re-wiring it's internals. Btw, those 2 bulbs were goners too. I put 2 3000k bulbs in it and it fired up right away

I guess all the flickering on and off from the broken wires burnt them out. I only had them for a couple weeks before they went. Glad you could fix it up though!

yup, that probably did it. kinda like they were starting up numerous times per minute. but she's all good now.

on another note, got my co2 cylinder today. 20# cylinder cost me a whole $30 with trading in my old,outdated co2/argon bottle from an old welder i had. my dad is dropping off a spare regulator he has lying around from his keg on saturday. just gonna need some incidentals (drop checker, needle valve,ect) and either build or buy a stand and the 75 will be almost ready to go. still need to decide on a substrate. but i have a strange feeling that i am going to be going with either black flourite sand, or black diamond grit.

So I was watching the showed "Tanked" last night and they actually did a freshwater setup. They used a bunch of live plants including a bunch of AWESOME anubias. They even had some rare ones in the tank. No particular reason I'm posting this, just wanted to ramble. One thing I did notice was that the tank was WAY WAY overstocked. They threw about 20 or more angels into a 60 gallon tank. It looked cool and everything, but clearly a week down the line half of those angels...if not all of them would have died. It's a shame they didn't say something along the lines of "there are only this many fish in the tank for show purposes and we plan to take out 3/4 of them after the fact."

Anyone else watch, enjoy, have commentary on the show Tanked?

i watch it from time to time. some of the tanks they build are truly incredible. the know nothing about freshwater fish though. was that the pinball machine tank? i didn't get a chance to see it finished, but i knew they were doing it with freshwater. i would not be surprised to find out a local planted tank hobbyist helped them with that tank. and 20 angels in a 60? they should be fined for animal cruelty!!LOL

Yea it was the pinball machine one. It was 3 tanks in total, one in front of the score board and two down by the sides. When I saw it I thought....the only way this would work is if they are all connects to a central sump so that the amount of water would be larger for the bioload, but when they zoomed in on the other two tanks they were just as overstocked as the one in the front with rainbows and other misc. fish. I imagine once those fish start dying, the ammonia in that tank with skyrocket causing the plants to melt away haha. I bet they paid top dollar for that to be done too.

All jokes aside. I'm sure things are different once the camera's are turned off. They likely did remove a bunch of those fish. Its just dumb to show that kinda stuff on tv and then have new hobbyists thinking they can have the same thing at their own house.
