Side Light

Hello! I am going to be moving my 2g tank soon to a place where it'll be hard to put a light on it. There is a really bad light that came with it but I want to use something else and I'm going to make it rimless. If I put a lamp next to it would that work? I'm not planning on any hard plants. Just a crypt, moss and possibly Bacopa monnieri as well. Should I do a lamp on either side or just one side or just stick with moss and get some anubias instead? Thanks!

You can surely get away with no light for those plants. Ive had an amazon sword survive for years just getting indirect sunlight from a nearby window.

Plants grow towards the light, so a light at the side of the tank will result in plants growing to that side instead of straight up.

Viewing the tank will be pretty awful too. I suggest just getting a clip on light, there is nothing requred for mounting besides the tank.
