I agree with jason. Baby steps. The only thing is crypts are heavy root feeders, so root tabs are helpful. They grow great in a dirt tank too!
Jason, yes, trim and plant them like any other stem. Stellatus isn't hard to grow at all, just give it ample light. However, to really bring out it's coloration, it prefers high light and high co2. I think it looks good without them personally. They do take up some room though because they all want their own light and will move around to get it.

I have vals for you. Midground is tough. Stuff I have that may work - HM, Rotala Walachii, Rotala mini and some microsword I have that grew real tall emersed.

Yeah..It needs another trimming this weekend. I need to re-calibrate the pH and temp sensor, adjust the timing of lights and clean up the tank. I've neglected this tank for way too long. I left the riccia in there so that I have some left for transporting CRS. Plan is to upgrade the wife's iPhone so I can use her phone to control the tank again. I am definitely adding a camera to controller this time. CRS is looking good in the 2 new tanks. Only problem. I can't get to the tank! It's a perfect location for hiding my CRS so I am still "discusonly" BTW.. the baby discus is probably going to get re-home this weekend. I have a buyer for the entire batch. Just the way I like to sell them. |

Not sure about those dan. Maybe i'll wait until you have some downoi ready
Van, that's cool that the babies are gettig a new home! I'll be over for some crs in a week or two now. I'm swamped this weekend, but the following may be good. I'm thinking about yanking that massive piece of driftwood i got from you from my 125. I loved it when i first put it in, now i'm hating it. Lol i think it would make a great water feature in a vivarium. So i think that may be it's new purpose.

Looking good. Did you use all the powerhead yet? Are you trying to make me regret selling the tank?
