oh....just out of curiosity, how long did they take before they were where you wanted them? on average, of course, not each specific tank.
I appreciate it, i took the hobby pretty seriously for a couple years, that is for sure.

The first two layouts are 180 gallons so they took up to a year to mature. All the others were about 3-4 months.

Oh, yeah, AGA... Yeah, i have entered a few years and judged a few years as well.

Wow...only 3-4 months? Let me guess, lighting you used is a nuclear fusion reactor and you have co2 running at about 60psi and about 40bps??? Lol
The thing that truly impresses me is the vision you had to have to envision these tanks before you even set them up. Just to know what it is going to look like in the beginning is impressive.

Excellent tanks Jason! It's strange to think that such awesome tanks are sitting in someones home only 30 minutes from me!

HAHA! Actually I am very conservative with my approach. I generally use lower light and i never use a reactor, only diffusers. Also, i very rarely dose the water column. Balanced light, co2 and AQUASOIL provides amazing results

Vision is so important and so difficult to work on. It is something i explain a lot when i give talks. It is especially challenging in our hobby where it is SO easy to just get your hands in there and change stuff.

NO WAYYYY! I can't believe any of these survived into the new millenia. This was my first tank, and yes that was more than a couple of decades ago. Some genius went and discovered silicone and my life hasn't been the same since.
I remember passing the Metaframe factory on Rt17 in Hasbrouck Heights NJ as a kid.

Bill,

It's set up already.. Just don't know what to use for substrate yet. I moved the 2 tanks that was next to the sink and put this tank there. Luckily, I have one of those all-glass plastic top and it fit right on top.

I tested for leak on Friday...No problem. So I set the tank on Sunday and filled it up.. water leaking onthe bottom.. WTF.. slowly filled it with warm-->warmer-->slightly hot water.. as of this morning.. no leak. Though I did not fully have this set up over the weekend but at least I now have two 20gal under the 55 ready for some CRS setup.

PM me where you wee the other one.. LOL

fluval shrimp stratum my man!! glad you have no leaks!! i have always wanted one of those tanks, since i was a teen to be exact. almost bought one as my first tank, well first one I purchased and not my parents, but didn't get it because i was into salt water them and last i checked, metal and salt water is bad. of course, now someone will tell me it would have been fine, they have had salt water tanks in metaframes for years, but i'm a rather play it safe than sorry kind of guy.

and i'm not tellin!! you're got gonna ninja this tank on me!!

Yup. Got it at dollar tree. 3 tubes for a buck. Beats 6 bucks for 1 tube and doesn't go as far. It will turn white under water, and I mean really white. Keep that in mind
