Was this possible?

In this thread:http://www.aquascapingworld.com/foru...-mountain.html

The guy grinded up fissidens and stuck it onto some rock and filled the tank up within 5-7 days. Is it possible for the fissidens to attatch THAT quickly? Thinking of using the same method with my new Manzy scape for my 95G. Also, how much light does it take to "burn" moss? Theoretically moss will attatch faster in an emergent setup under higher lighting. I just don't want to have so much light that the moss just goes brown and dies.

I would guess it just gets stuck in the pores of the rock. I have used Fissidens alot and it has NEVER attached this fast for me, EVER. There might also be a difference if you use emergent moss too. I have never tried attaching emergent moss that quickly, but I would still guess its not possible. Especially on wood.

I've also heard that fissidens is the fastest in attaching it's rhizoids to wood/rocks,is this true?

Most likely. I havent really tested them. I would however say that it attaches better than most. And quicker.

So how long do you think it could take with high light without burning the moss? A month shortest?

You will be fine at a month emergent. That should be plenty of time to let it attach so it doesnt float off when you fill your tank.

That's great news. What about say 3 weeks? Also need to find a way to uniformly grind my moss.

Seeing how low I am on my budget... I'll stick with a knife or scissors

Ever thought about trying a coffee bean grinder? Or even a blender?

Hmmm... I may have to try this with some of my fissiden.
I saw people do this with regular moss... never thought about this though!

Nope. A blender would probably be too powerful. I would end up with fissidens mush instead of small bits and pieces.

I think scissors and knives wouldn't be too hard. Just gotta go even and cut up again the bigger pieces.

Do it! And let us know your results. Do you also have any fissidens for cheap?
