Micro rasboras that will school with chili/mosquito rasboras
My situation is that I have a 10g tank, well planted with lots of moss, mini crypts, micro sword, foxtail, bacopa and ricca. It houses cherry shrimp, 4 emerald dwarf rasboras, 5 chili rasboras and 2 pygmy corys. (The Emerald dwarf rasboras are not really much like most rasboras imo, I think they are more closely related to cyprinids. there are two pairs who are constantly chasing each other, breeding, and chasing each other some more. They don't really school, in fact I think they almost act more like little tiny cichlids)
I want to get more chilis and corys, since the small school size is due to the fact that I bought all the LFS had left, and was not intentional, but I have not been able to find more chilis. Since these fish are so tiny I don't think it will be a problem to bring both the cory and chili schools up to about 10 in number. I have noticed that often species that are closely related and similar in size will school together (corys, botia, tetras, etc.)
If I can't get more chilis, do you think the chilis would school with pygmy rasboras? They look very simlar in size, coloring and shape. Or would I just end up with two small, timid schools that don't feel comfortable behaving naturally?
