Interpecies schooling

I added 10 dwarf neon rainbows to my existing stock of 9 Trigonostigma hengeli, 7 otos and 5 Cory habrosus in a 57g. So far, so good. Everyone is happy. A little too happy maybe. I am used to cories following around otos (until the oto falls asleep), and I know different types of e.g. tetras school together. What's confusing me a little is that the rainbows and the hengelis apparently agreed on a formal merger and have been doing everything together since. Don't get me wrong, it's amusing - I'm just wondering if this is going to be a permanent thing or temporary. All fish have been added to the tank fairly recently.

all my tetras would at one point school together until they realized they owned the tank.

Now 2 of my cardinals have turned into cichilids and take up each corner respectively chasing other tetras out when they get close...

I have glowlights + Blacks + neons + cardinals...
They all dont school anymore which made me kinda sad.. the neons will school with the cardinals minus the 2 who became territorial.

The glowlights being the biggest i have, dont care about the other fish and tend to stay on there own...

The blacks are always chasing each other around the tank...

I assume since they are spooked / scared of the new enviorment they are schooling.
Once they realize they own the tank, they will most likely break off into there own species...

My tiger barbs and Buenos aires tetras are schooling together 75% of the time. When the tiger barbs go into spawning mode they separate and beat the tar out of each other, bit otherwise its 4+5=9 with them. Both species tightly swim the tank length together tightly most of the day. Sometimes my lone female blue ram thinks she's a tiger barb and joins the fights/schooling behavior.

At one point I had a 29g with 3 different schooling fish in the tank, cardinals cherry barbs and something else.

They'd go through three phases regularly, all schooling together, in seperate species schools and just spread throughout the tank not schooling at all.

Rainbows are pretty much willing to "school" with anything if you can call it that. You'll see them in african tanks alot because their friendly attitude reduces tank aggression.
