Eheim 2215 is leaking

Hey guys,

Basically while I was shaking the filter to release air bubbles, I found a small leak under the "suction side hose connection" (little elbow on the bottom).
Did anybody else have similar problem? And how would I fix it?

Thanks!!!

That side usually screws on to the canister. Did you clean the filter recently? I find sometimes I don't screw it on all the way for fear that I may break the threads.

Inspect it for phsyical damage and looseness. If it's not loose or damaged, remove it and apply plumber's tape to the thread and retighten.

I see, I didn't know it screws, I'll try tighten it. Thanks!

Be gentle or you'll likely make things worse.

If its still leaking try replacing the o ring that seals the elbow to the canister. All o rings should also be lubed up with silicone grease every once in a while.

Well, it wasn't tight at all. As of now, no leak yet. I hope it stays that way=)
