Is there an estimated time for the next shipment to come in. Thanks.

Nope, spoke with Frank and he has been trying to get in touch with ADA, but has not had any response in two weeks. Apparently, there are some new people in distribution at ADA according to Frank. I would have thought a large company like ADA would have better communication with their distributers. Hopefully, we will know something soon. Shipment was expected late January and then it would go through a thorough inspection by US customs which could hold it up even longer.

I've been waiting to order some tanks as well. 60-F and the 60-P, AFA is going to get a container in the end of Feb. Hopefully ADG will get one around the same time.

In regards to the container processing in the past 6 months, we have encountered significant delays as a direct result of the earthquake in Japan that occurred last spring, 2011. For these delays, I must apologize and accept responsibility for the current status of stock levels at ADG.

Specifically, the largest hurdle that had disrupted distribution is in direct correlation with the Yen, which skyrocketed in value vs. the dollar after the earthquake. The net effects of this disparity in exchange rate meant that the current pricing of product would have increased by a net effect of around 20-30%.

This combined with build out costs of the Aquarium Design Group facility, resulted directly in this delay we are experiencing today.

However, the result of this process is ultimately for the better: it has caused a complete re-evaluation of the distribution strategy, import methods and stock levels of all of the products carried by Aquarium Design Group. This streamlining of the process focuses on three main objectives:

*Stock quantities of most popular items, such as Aqua Soil
*Time spans between containers, and shipping times and customs processing
*Distribution on a macro and micro sense

As we approach the renewal of availability for ADA products by ADG, the end result is simple: stable price point, stable supply, more efficient delivery to the customer.

That being said, I will leave you all with one small tidbit: there is a whole new system we will be launching in conjunction with the next container that completely revolutionizes planted aquarium education, inspiration and duplication of high quality layouts that anyone can achieve.

Would also like to know ETA of next container? Trying to avoid shipping from West coast if possible, but if it's going to be months then I will order from aquaforest.

I spoke with Mike at ADG last week (and got a PM from Frank this week). They can correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like the next big shipment will be sometime in April. This may seem like a long time to wait, but there seems to be legitimate reasons for the delay.

Since ADG prices are much lower than their competitor (not to mention they are active in this planted tank community while AFA remains noticably absent) I'm going to wait and spend my money with them.

April isnt too far off. I will wait if I can get a confirmation. I am guessing prices of the tanks and everything ADA in general will increase because of lower inventory levels overall.

We will have an official date to announce by about Tuesday of next week, once the order has gone through initial processing Japan side.

Prices should remain fairly consistent with what they are now.
