new to carpeting plants

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum but have been reading posts for a while. Anyway I wanted some carpeting plant in my 10g. I was looking at getting a mat of Dwarf Baby Tears. This leads me to my question, what is a good simple way to anchor the mat until it roots? Thanks in advance.

look up the dry start method or dsm its when you grow the hc for a few weeks without water in the tank to let it root

My tank is established and is a couple months old. It has a gravel substrate with sand under and root tabs but usually things tend to float back up from the gravel. Any suggestions there? :/
