Placing two islands in these configurations (at opposite ends of the tank) does not please the eye. try to take the Golden Ration into consideration...place the pieces at these points and the result would look much nicer imho.

So are you saying ditch everything except one golden focal point

Should I ditch the price in the right or add it to the main point

Those last two layouts look much better :-) Still looks a bit jumbled, though...move the pieces around a bit until it "settles down" and looks harmonic.

I think I need a bit more substrate as it would be nice to make the mound a bit bigger...
But it's getting there

I just needed a little inspiration

Any other suggestions?

. I have been itching to get my DSM going (either HC or glosso. Still debating) but wanted to get the main layout figured first.

I would probaly have made a minor counterpoint with a small wood piece at the other golden point.
Anyhow, main thing is that YOU like it....you're going to spend so many hours looking at it :-)

I'll see if there is anything else to scavenge from outer tanks. Maybe some rocks?
Would you make the mound higher or good as is. ..

I don't think the mound needs to be higher, just thin down the sub towards the front glass and generally slope it more towards the back. The perspective will probably be better.

I'm with ya. Currently stealing FSS and aquasoil from other tanks to mix in. What so you think would look better. Glosso or HC. I have grown both before. Both nice. HC looks nice when trimmed but it's a lot more work. Glosso is pretty low maintenance and still has a nice effect

Well, that depends a bit on how you intend to run this setup. They both need a lot of light, but glosso can be done without CO2. I'd go with glosso because it is easier in upkeep/maintenance and actually just as nice as HC, imho.

Lower work is nice. I do have co2 so I will prob use it at first to adapt it then either leave it connect at a low does or slowly tone it down until it's not need. I'm doing renos and have about a month before I can actually set up the tank. Which is why I have been itching to get a DSM going to prep it

Ps thanks for the inspirational replys
