Utricularia Graminifolia in Sand/Dirt

Hi all,

I've been having slow UG growth in my emersed setup with many other plants (although plenty of space), but fast UG growth in my fluval stratum DSM 2.5G. I was thinking about improving the substrate in the emersed tub to help the UG grow, and wanted to check in with what's worked for people.

Right now it's MGOCPM in trays with holes in the bottom, surrounded by water (a little lower than soil level); water seeps in through the holes, everything stays very muddy. If I were to add petco aquarium sand (all I have on hand, and I'm a bit broke atm -- don't want to go buy some more stratum + root tabs (or just use it as a cap)), do you all think the UG would grow fast? Any experience with this?

Any pictures of UG in different setups and how it's been doing would be appreciated. It would be great to see how it looks in sand!

I'd be interested to see pics once you get it growing. I've seen pictures of emersed UG, but it looks so wildly different from what I would call UG that I'm not sure they are the same plant.

My UG has been doing very well in a big tupperware/storage tote thing with New AquaSoil and 2 T8 lights ~ 15 inches off the top. It's covered with a piece of acrylic and is misted daily or everyother day.

Security Question
While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, John and his friend Sally both spotted a dalmatian inside of a truck with sirens. The animal with John and Sally is a _ _ _?
