Here's my complete co2 system as it stands. I have a minor leak on the reactor that I need to find but all in all its a decent starter system

Just got a used 300watt heater "donated" to my tank.
Got some Brazillian Pennywort on the way.
Also ordered some RootMedic Complete 500 ordered as well.
Was going to do an autosystem with PPS, but decided to put that on hold for now. I'm just really sick of staring at an empty tank

Looking at the following plant list right now what do you think?

Hydrocotyle leucocephala (Brazillian Pennywort) - coming this week

Looking at ordering in January:
Bacopa Australis
Hydrocotyle verticillata
Cardamine lyrata (Japanese cress)
Hygrophilia corymbosa Siamensis
Ceratopteris thalictroides (water sprite)
Ludwigia repens Rubin

Got my pennywort the other day. Its pearling today! I'm hoping my ferts get shipped this week so it can really take off

Picked up some Hygrophilia difformis & Hygrophilia angustifolia today at the lfs.... I'm excited!

now the real question is... how do I plant this stuff? It has little metal things holding it together in a bunch...

ended up having to put silicone on all of my co2 connections. I had major leaks at all of my tube connections. Checked today, and no leaks!

so, I noticed this yesterday



Its at least twice the size today, so I started a green water culture. Its the only thing I can get my hands on before the little buggers start hatching. Hopefully I can get my hands on a brine shrimp hatchery soon as well.

I also got a fruit fly culture from the lfs. it was TEEMING with flies, I attempted to feed a few to my gouramis in addition to their flakes and fd bloodworms. They go nuts for the flakes, not so much for the worms and flies. Not sure on how I can get them more interested in the better foods.

recieved my walter worm starter and my fruit fly culture supply came in today. Got the media started for the worms already. Got to pick up some distilled water later for my fly cultures so I can get those seeded. Can't wait. I have baby gouramis in my tank now. The parents have been moved to a 10 g holding tank for a bit.

Yes the parents were stressing in my empty 10 so I put them back. There are a ton of babies in there and hiding very well. I should have enough walter worms to start feeding those tomorrow. Really need to get a sponge filter this weekend and re-route my co2 so it can be run without the filter on

Added the following plants the other day that I got from an ROAK from Da Plant Man.

Limnophila sessiliflora
Lindernia sp. India
Helanthium tenellum
a little random strand of moss
and possibly a stem of bacopa salzmannii

My other plants are really starting to take off nicely as well with the addition of ferts. I need to get me some shrimp and snails to take care of the algae issue I've got going on. I'm thinking RCS and neterites. I don't want a snail that is going to breed profusely and take over my tank. Any suggestions on anything I can put in there that won't breed in freshwater?

I am going to be cleaning the tank today so I'll get some pictures afterwords hopefully.
I'm also upgrading to normal CO2. I am getting an awesome deal on the following from mayanjungledog

VWR Scientific Products Brass Dual Stage Regulator #55850-480 (Comes with a CGA-320 brass inlet)
Parker Stainless Steel Needle Valve #4Z(A)-NSL-BN-SS-K
Clippard Mouse Solenoid, 24v, manifold mount (manifold not included)

Hopefully the rest of the parts I can order from bettatail and figure out how to get the regulator put together. VERY excited about this!

got a glass top, Hydor ETH 200 watt inline heater, API master test kit, and a power strip with a timer ordered. My tank is almost where I want it to be equipment wise. I can't wait!
