I have Babies!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone!!
I have baby shrimp!!!! I have the red shrimp and have been wondering why no babies well yesterday I spotted some. I counted 8 but it looks as if some are older than others they are all red except one. He is clear no color at all. I wonder why he has no color? He is one of the bigger babies. Could my algae shrimp be the parents? I didnt think they could breed in fresh water?
when they get a little bit bigger I will post pix.

No, cant say that I have , but I am originally from here in Atlanta. I thought about moving up north as well ( some family relocated there) but I think I would miss the south way too much lol.

Hi Tara
I cant tell you how much I miss the south esp nov-may. I miss the fried chicken sweet tea and peach cobbler. You should check out the blue willow southern buffet. Take 20 as if your going to Augusta go to social circles get off go to the stop make a left and the willow is a cpl of miles on the right Im sure you could google it. The best night to go is fri all this great fresh seafood!!

Where did you get the shrimps from?
Are they red cherry shrimp or red crystals?
Grats!

thanks gordon
I bought the shrimp a month or so ago at pacific over in the city they are cherry. I have 3 algae shrimp as well thats what make me wonder about the one baby that is completely clear. He's/she's bigger than the other babies. From sizes it looks like 2 different batches.

Congrats!

So now, we know the Cories do not eat up all the shrimplets.

Pat, after all, your tank is not as bad as you always portrait it to be. LOL

Unfortunately I have a bad news to tell you, I lost 90% of fluorescent danio juveniles in the bigger breeding tank today. I am very very sad because the two new colors are gone too. One batch yields only one of them.

the love the moss seems to be a nursery for them they never leave it and if someone swims close the retreat deep into it for protection.
Ill keep my fingers crossed for you!!

I think you may have a cherry shrimp baby that has more of its wild coloration. Congrats on the babies they are always a delight.
