Light spectrum....any particular perference???

I have been using a 5700k and 10k bulbs (for some reason when I removed the 10k bulb, it reads something like 12kk super white). I replaced the 10k one with a 6700k from Zoo Med. Just want to see if my plants would grow better or less algae issue.

Light spectrum <> Kelvin. The color temperature is expressed in Kelvin, and it has very little to do with the actual spectrum.

As long as you are using "regular" tubes (not actinic ones) they should all work okay. Personal preference leads to everyone's bulb choices.

Agreed with Wasserpest. Overall intensity seems to cause way more problems (or benefits) than spectrum.

It's not an absolute but I've varied the K temp of my tank frequently (color dimmability on my LEDs) and never get more or less algae when I vary the color temp. I do get more algae when I jack the PAR levels too high.
