WTB: Seeded filter media, gravel, full fresh Filters, on Long Island
So i'm starting up a fresh water tank for my 5yr old...the problem i'm running into is Cycling a tank takes 6-8 weeks in some cases and her birthday is November 3rd...So i'm running out of time fast
Does anyone have a filter they are currently using that they want to sell? Old fresh bacteria rich filter cartridges? Gravel from a well established tank? |

What size tank are you planning on setting up for her?
No matter what you'd still want to only get her a couple fish in the tank. Plants play a big help in keeping water clean. I could hook you up with a gallon of water from one of my tanks. Old cartridges won't do anything for you. Its better to get substrate or water instead in my opinion. Adding your fish will do the rest. A reminder not to get too many fish at once for her. Maybe a couple guppies first? -Gordon |

Hate to say this because I don't do it anymore but you could always just get a fish or two to cycle the tank with. I don't recommend it but some still do.

How big is the tank?
What are you going to keep in the tank? I have fully cycled -substrate in mesh bag, -bio balls -crush corals in mesh bag After cycled with other stuff in your tank, if you need free plants to soak up nitrate I have duck weed too. It's low tech, no need for CO2 nor high lighting requirement, you may have to do a lot of scooping in the future though. Pick up in Flushing 11355 |
